About TAD

Built by Darius Yates.
Inside the systems it now diagnoses.

TAD wasn’t designed from a conference stage or a consulting playbook. It was built by an operator who spent years inside the engineering delivery systems that most tools only measure from the outside.

The Company

The Agility Doctor is a delivery intelligence company. We build diagnostic products that show engineering leaders what is actually happening in their delivery systems — not what their dashboards say is happening.

Our core product, TAD Delivery Intelligence, evaluates engineering delivery across six scored dimensions and two analytical layers. It scores flow efficiency, WIP discipline, throughput, intake quality, team structure, and delivery visibility — then assesses data confidence and SLE integrity as separate analytical layers. It exists because dashboards measure output. Engineering leaders need diagnosis.

The Founder

Darius Yates has spent years embedded inside engineering organizations — not as an advisor observing from a safe distance, but as an operator working inside the delivery systems themselves. Diagnosing why features ship late. Why teams are blocked by dependencies nobody mapped. Why leadership keeps hearing “we’re on track” until they’re not.

Across dozens of engineering organizations, the same structural patterns kept surfacing: WIP overload disguised as a capacity problem. Intake failures blamed on prioritization. SLEs set once and never recalibrated. Process ceremonies running on schedule while delivery predictability got worse. Leadership making decisions on metrics that measured activity, not system health.

These are not unique failures. They are structural patterns — and they are diagnosable if you have the model to see them.

TAD is that model. It codifies years of hands-on delivery system diagnosis into a structured product that any engineering leader can access — without hiring a consultant, waiting months for findings, or relying on dashboards that measure the wrong things.

Methodology

Where the model came from

The scoring model wasn’t designed from a textbook. It draws on established principles from flow-based delivery science and the Kanban method, refined through years of hands-on delivery transformation work. Each dimension represents a failure mode observed consistently — not once, but across dozens of organizations.

The weights reflect which failures have the highest downstream impact on the system as a whole. Data Confidence and SLE Integrity were added as distinct analytical layers because they represent the most commonly overlooked blind spots in engineering delivery: organizations making decisions on metrics they have never validated, against expectations they have never recalibrated.

Mission

Make delivery failure visible, measurable, and actionable.

Engineering organizations spend heavily on tooling, process frameworks, and agile transformations. Most still cannot reliably explain why delivery is unpredictable. The reason is simple: they have metrics without diagnosis.

TAD closes that gap. We deliver structured, scored, actionable diagnostic intelligence — from a single-team directional read to a full department-level assessment. Because the first step to fixing delivery is understanding what is actually broken.
